NEW BLOG ALERT!
Back in February the lovely and talented Jen Wa the Destroyer came out to California to visit me. Jen Wa went Vegan last year and has a couple of food allergies, which I was prepared for, because hey we lived together for like three years.
One night we went out drinking and got the dreaded drunken munchies. It’s hard to keep vegan or gluten free doing the whole drive thru thing. Not to mention that THERE AREN’T ANY FUCKING DRIVE THRUS WHERE I LIVE, THEY’RE ILLEGAL, so we needed to find a 24 hour grocery store, which we did.
I watched, wide eyed and hungry as Jen ran through the store picking out this and that and brought me home and put me in front of the tv with a dvd of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. A handful of minutes later she came back into the living room with vegan nachos. DELICIOUS vegan nachos. I began to suspect my best friend was some kind of wizard.
Turns out that both of us are pretty handy in the kitchen when we have the time to be. I’ve been cooking ALOT since getting laid off and I really enjoy it. Not OMG LETS GO TO CULINARY SCHOOL enjoy it, but I’ve stopped dreading the grocery store and I’ve stopped dreading the kitchen. Mostly because I’ve cleaned the nasty bitch.
Last night I twittered about a vegetarian sloppy joe I was making and drunken GTM logic kicked in. From 3000 miles away, Jen and I decided we would make a drunken vegan/veg (sometimes pescetarian) cooking blog.
