Introduction

open for business

So it might look like this blog has been in service for a long time, but it’s brand new. I combined the archives of my blogspot site and my uber site to make this one. After Shawno pointed me towards wordpress I was hooked on the format of the site and decided this would be my new blog home.

Still I do feel as though some sort of introductory post is in order, so here goes:

I’m 29. I’ve been blogging off and on since 1997. I often times get bored with a site and just delete it. I’m trying to write more now though so hopefully this won’t be the case. This also probably won’t be a hugely personal blog as it is public and I have other outlets for that sort of thing.

I live in a little beach town in California with less than 1000 residents. We’re only about 5 miles away from a much larger town though so no worries about us, we have all the things other people have and we have a small community as well. I know most of my neighbors and the ones I don’t know will just as easily strike up a conversation and invite you in for a beer anyway. It’s like that here.

I currently live with my boyfriend who will often be referred to here as The Boyfriend, because I don’t feel like splashing his name all over the internet. If you know me, you know it. We also have a cat.

I’ve lived in California my whole life and don’t see any reason to change that. I’ve also lived in a handful of cities in this state and while I love my little beach town I do miss the city. Alot actually but, I don’t ever see myself going back either.

I don’t have any children. I’d like to keep it that way.

While reading this blog you might have to endure some sports related talk. I am an avid Seattle Seahawks fan and also love the Boston Red Sox. I’m fairly new to baseball but I’m pretty passionate about it. I blame this on my BFF Jen Wa The Destroyer. If you’re not reading her blog, you should be.

All of the blogs on my blogroll are my daily reads. I’m pretty busy so I don’t bother reading anything that sucks, so if I give it the seal of approval it’s definately worth checking out.

And that my friends is me in a nutshell. Welcome to my little part of the gutter….

Thanks for your blog about your experience with your first unemployment extension. I haven’t recieved mine yet–it’s been a week since I recieved my “last week” check. Before my regular UI ran-out I sent a letter asking for information (didn’t recieve a reply) and I’ve sent a follow-up letter. I figure I’ll send a follow-up letter every week until I recieve and answer.

Thanks also for your backstory. I live in a college town across the bay from a city I once inhabited. I don’t miss it. I’ve found a community of wonderful, eclectic, well meaning and imperfect people. I ain’t goin’ anywhere!
